Happy Spring friends!
I just finished decorating my front porch for Spring and wanted to share some photos with you. I did attempt to clean the front porch but the pollen is everywhere right now.

My inspiration for the front was an orange and black carrot-themed wreath that I had made to sell. Since the world has flipped upside down at the moment, I realized that the store wasn’t going to be open any time soon so I’d planned to use the wreath myself.

I decided to play off of the carrot-themed wreath and make these darling carrots hanging from my outdoor lanterns. The only thing is that the colors of the wreath’s carrots and the hanging carrots didn’t match. So I had to change all of the plans. I ended up making a new wreath with orange, yellow and hot pink flowers along with a buffalo plaid bow.
Isn’t that what we’re all going through right now? Rethinking, recreating and just going with what we have?

I am totally in love with the carrots! I will share how these are made in my next post. They were easy and cheap to make but did take a lot more time than I had originally thought. Overall, I am very happy with them!

My azaleas are hot pink and are just starting to bloom out. You can see a few of them poking their little heads out. I took this shot so you could see my Lady Banks Roses growing at my carport. I had shared my Lady Banks Roses before HERE. If you’d never looked into these, they are thornless vining roses that have the most beautiful spray of bright yellow blooms. I planted these roses over my carport many years ago and so enjoy this time of year when I get to see them bloom out. Their blooming period is short but the vines are pretty year round.

I also want to mention the ferns used in the black urns. This are Queen Kimberly Ferns. My front door gets full sun and these ferns can take a lot of heat. They are not as bushy and flowing as a traditional Boston Fern but the tradeoff is in their heartiness. They work great around pools, too. I got these at Home Depot for under $15 each.

I shared how I made my outdoor wooden decorations HERE. This year, I actually repainted the carrots to be a brighter orange and gave my little friend a buffalo plaid bow tie so he’d fit into the overall theme. I think he’s pretty handsome!

My large, freestanding rabbit was also shown HERE. I made a new flower crown for her this year using the bright colors in the wreath.

I used orange, yellow, black and hot pink. Ain’t she purty? (As we Southerners say.)
Here’s a few more photos…

Here’s your Lucy love for the day! Mary snapped this photo while she was outside taking photos for me. Lucy is such a sweet girl! She’s a nut, but sweet.
