Hello again friends!
To most of us, 2020 is a blur. It will probably be remembered as one of the longest years of our lives. Looking back, there were many accomplishments and happy times. We have all fought through and are now at the end of this year…ready to welcome 2021 with open arms. There are a few days left in 2020 and I hope that we will savor the days remaining, remember the good of 2020 and walk into the next year with hope, joy and optimism.
Today, I wanted to look back at some of the most popular posts of 2020 for Mulch and Paint.
I also want to take this time to thank all of you who visit this little blog of mine and spend time with me. All of the encouraging comments, Facebook likes, Pinterest shares….they are all appreciated and help motivate me to do more. You guys are the best and I cannot wait to see where 2021 takes us!
Let’s get started!
Most Popular Recipe of 2020

This salty sweet side dish can even sub as a dessert. I discovered this wonderful casserole thirty years ago and was amazed at many readers who had never tried this. The great part about pineapple casserole is that it takes minutes to assemble and you probably already have the ingredients in your pantry.

#10 DIY Pallet Flag

I made this pallet flag in a few hours and stenciled the stars using potatoes.
#9 DIY Christmas Sign

$6 and 5 minutes and you’ve got a beautiful sign!

Using a Dollar Tree Christmas tree, I made a ribbon tree for my gold Christmas village.

I made two of these carrots to hang on each side of my front door.

You don’t have to make your pumpkins pink like me, use the tutorial to create your own in any color you choose!

One of my favorite holidays is May Day! I enjoy making May Day baskets with fresh flowers and leaving them on the doors of friends and family.

Donnie cut these darling little bunnies out for me and I painted and distressed them. A bow collar dresses them up for the holiday!

I was so happy at how cute these little guys turned out!

I bought metal yard decor from Dollar Tree and made these sweet red, white and blue patriotic decor!
#1 Cardboard Gingerbread Houses

My kitchen tree needed a tree collar at the bottom so I created these cardboard gingerbread houses! I got a lot of great feedback from these houses. I am not artistic so mine are pretty basic–but someone more talented than me could make these look even more special.

#10 Jar Upcycle DIY

I can’t wait to try another craft like this! Add a secret ingredient to paint and get a wonderful texture.

Similar to the jar upcycle craft, I made a textured exterior to a vase to conceal a cracked area that had been glued back. I loved getting my hands dirty with this craft!

Group a collection of art to make a gallery wall. In this post, I shared my gallery wall using a collection of black and white drawings along with some of my favorite gallery walls from other bloggers.

I have always wanted to try making candles. Since I live in the South, citronella candles was pretty much a no-brainer. They smelled great…but I hope the mosquitoes don’t think so.

I used this wreath for over a month on my front door. Using a Dollar Tree wreath form and fresh magnolia leaves from my magnolia tree, it was almost free!

I never thought posting a photo of dead bugs would be so popular! I guess a lot of you dislike those pesky fruit flies as much as I do!

Before I ever go to a store to buy something, I shop my house and try to find items that I can repurpose. That’s how this simple wooden display came to be.

They are still soft and pliable! Harvest your beautiful hydrangea in late summer and preserve them so they feel just like silk flowers.

Buffalo check is everywhere…even on my old pickle jars! To add color to my fall decor, I experimented with painting jars.
