Hello again friends!

This is Week 5 of the One Room Challenge!
I have joined a talented group of bloggers who have taken the One Room Challenge! For eight weeks, each of us are refreshing a space in our homes and sharing the process as we go. Please visit the One Room Challenge site to see great ideas that will inspire you!
Picking up where I left off last week, I am still shopping! My son, Trevor, is living at home while he is commuting to college and my One Room Challenge is his bedroom. Last week, I shared how Ikea was a great source to find affordable pieces for the room. I was able to get Trevor’s bookshelves, window shades, duvet cover and lighting for the bookshelves.
One of the most important items that I wanted to replace in Trevor’s room was the ceiling fan. His current fan came with the house and was a plain, white and very dated fan.

My daughter in law, Kaytlen, is an interior designer and had worked with a client who had purchased ceiling fans that Kaytlen recommended I look at. I am sure that I bought a lower-priced fan than her client, but I think it looks great in Trevor’s room.
I ordered this fan from Home Depot.

I think the most difficult item to choose for Trevor’s room was an area rug. I really stress out about area rugs for some reason. After what seemed like an extremely long search, I chose one and ordered it from Rugs.com. I liked the brightness and randomness of the rug. It also seemed to have a lot of the brown wood tones along with some black to pull in most of the colors I am using for the base of the room.

Do you remember those short little red curtains I had hanging in the room before? If these were pants, we’d call these high waters!

Well, those are gone! I fell in love with these curtains because they had a Mid-Century Modern vibe to them….they made me want to use the word Sputnik.
Sputnik.
Anyway…I got these cuties from Wayfair.

And what boy’s room doesn’t have a television/video game area? I chose this one from Wayfair for it’s modern vibe and size.

I am flanking two Ikea Billy bookshelves on each side of Trevor’s bed so he will not have space for a traditional side table. I decided to to find a rolling bed table to give Trevor a space for side table items. I wanted an adjustable table in case he wanted to use it as a desk or table. Here’s the table I purchased from Walmart.

My shopping spree is almost over! I have several more items to get, but I can’t wait to show you how the room is coming together once the all of this great furniture arrives! Next week, everything will start taking shape and I will put some of the pieces together in hopes that they become the room that I have envisioned.
Thank you so much for stopping by Mulch and Paint today!
