Hot Pepper Jelly

A wonderful jelly that packs a little heat and can be used to accent savory or sweet cuisines.

Servings: 1
  • 2/3 C Hot peppers (your choice depending on how hot you want your jelly)
  • 1 Green bell pepper
  • 1 1/2 C White vinegar
  • 6 C Sugar
  • 8 oz Liquid Certo 2 pkgs
  • 6 Half-pint glass jars with lids
  1. Chop hot peppers and bell pepper and place in a blender with vinegar.  Blend well.  Pour into a large boiler.

  2. Add sugar and stir well.

  3. Bring mixture to a boil and boil for 1 minute.  Remove from heat.

  4. Add Certo and combine.

  5. Ladle into jars and seal.

    Boil jars in a water bath for 5 minutes.  (Jars should not touch the bottom of the pot of water so use a rack on bottom.  Cover jars with 1-2 inches of water.)

  6. Remove from water and cool.
